  • Birthmarks

Birthmarks are natural marks on the skin that are present at birth or develop shortly afterward. They can vary in color, size, and shape depending on whether they are caused by extra pigment cells or blood vessels. While many birthmarks are harmless, some people choose to treat them for cosmetic reasons or to improve skin appearance. One modern option is dermal pigmentation, a specialized technique to implant natural skin toned pigment into the dermis to match the surrounding skin tone. This procedure canminimise in types of birthmarks by blending their color with nearby skin, making them less noticeable. When performed by a highly skilled professional,  medical pigmentation can be an effective and long-lasting treatment that improves confidence and the overall appearance of the skin.

We have been in practice over 15 years and have treated thousands of patients using advanced medical dermal pigmentation techniques.

We carefully match and custom mix specialty  manufactured, hypoallergenic flesh toned medical pigment that are then implanted into your skin to mimic your natural skin tone to reduce the appearance of discolouration and create a more even complexion. • Hypopigmented Scars (white)

A hypopigmented scar is a type of scar that appears lighter than the surrounding skin because the area has less melanin, the pigment that gives skin its color. By carefully implanting custom-blended medical grade pigments into your scar, we are able to restore a more natural color, helping the scar blend more naturally with the surrounding skin.

This technique can significantly reduce the visual contrast of the scar, making it less noticeable and improving overall skin appearance and patient confidence. Results typically require multiple sessions and careful color matching to achieve the most natural-looking outcome.

Procedures are considered minimally invasive, and offer little or no downtime.

  • Tattoo Removal Complications

Laser removal is the go-to method for removing unwanted tattoos because it is both safe and effective. However, as with any procedure, side effects can sometimes occur.

Skin discolouration from laser treatment is uncommon and

inn most cases, hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation is temporary and will resolve within 3–12 months.

Is hyperpigmentation and hyperpigmentation the same as scaring?

Short answer: No. The condition is not the same. Although both can occur in scar tissue.

It’s actually quite common for a tattoo artist to unintentionally cause minor scarring that goes unnoticed until a person undergoes laser removal.

Both Hyper/Hypopigmentation are forms of pigment change rather than structural changes in the skin.

If Hyper/Hypo pigmentation persists longer than 12 months the condition is likely to be permanent. In these instances we can help you restore a more even skin tone.

  • Cosmetic Surgery Scars

Visible facelift scars can sometimes remain along the hairline or around the ears after surgery, appearing lighter, redder, or more noticeable than the surrounding skin.

We can reduce the tell-tale signs of your facelift by carefully depositing custom-blended flesh toned medical pigments into the scar tissue, blending your scars into the undamaged surrounding skin.

This technique helps soften the contrast between the scar and the natural skin, making the area appear more natural ,even and less visible.

Procedures are performed by our highly trained, experienced  medical specialist using medical grade topical anaesthetic within safe sterile medical practice.

Typically 2-3  procedures are required at achieve natural-looking result that enhances overall skin harmony and the confidence..

  • Self Harm Scars

Self-harm scars often appear as pale, uneven, or discolored marks that can remain visible long after the skin has healed, which may affect a person’s confidence and emotional wellbeing.

By applyin dermal micropigments directly into these scars we can help improve the appearance and texture of damaged skin to restore a more natural skin tone.

Because many scars lose pigment and appear lighter than the surrounding skin, this technique works to blend the scar with nearby tissue, reducing the contrast and making them far less noticeable. The treatment is performed gradually, often over several sessions, to ensure accurate color matching and natural-looking results, helping individuals feel more comfortable and confident in their skin.

Typically 3-4 procedures spaced once every 4 - 6 weeks is all that is required to see a marked improvement.

  • Hyperpigmented Scars (dark)

Hyperpigmented scars are darker than the surrounding skin and can occur after an injury, burn, or surgical procedure. This darkening happens when the skin produces excess melanin during the healing process, often leaving brown, purple, or grey discoloration even after the wound has closed. We can help reduce the appearance of these scars by carefully implanting specialized pigments into the skin to match the surrounding natural skin tone. By blending the scar with the surrounding tissue, this technique visually softens the contrast between the scar and normal skin, making the hyperpigmented area less noticeable and improving overall skin uniformity.

Not all scars are suitable for medical pigmentation. The procedure relies on the scar tissue being stable, well-healed (12 months or more), and able to hold pigment evenly. Scars that are too raised, textured, or irregular may result in uneven pigment distribution, making the outcome appear unnatural. Individuals prone to keloid scars and excessive hyperpigmentation are not suitable candidates.

  • Moderate - Severe Stretchmarks

Stretchmarks are extremely common and affect both men and women of all ages, and skin types. They appear to have a genetic component, and often appear during puberty, periods of rapid weight changes, pregnancy or muscle or growth spurts.

Stretch marks most commonly occur on the abdomen, thighs, hips, breasts, chest, back and arms. New stretchmarks often appear red or purple then fade to silvery/white lines after about 3-6 months.

Dermink specialises is moderate - severe stretchmarks, having successfully treated more than 5000 procedures performed in San Francisco, London and Australia. We are not only able to minimise their unsightly appearance, but restore a more even skin tone. People with moderate to severe stretchmarks (stretch marks must be visible from several feet), stretchmarks must be at least 6 months old and individuals not prone to keloid scars or excessive hyperpigmentation are considered ideal candidates.

  • Burns

Burn scars can have a lasting physical and emotional impact, often leaving areas of skin with uneven colour, texture, or loss of natural pigmentation. Improving the appearance of burn scars often involves treatments that help restore skin tone and reduce visible discolouration

One non-surgical option to help restore a more natural skin tone and texture to damaged skin is dermal pigmentation. This treatment can be especially helpful for scars that have loss or excessive pigment. In many cases, only a few sessions are required, making it a minimally invasive approach offering relatively little downtime compared to surgical procedures.

By targeting discolouration and softening scar tissue, Dermink offers a practical solution for improving the appearance of burn and chemical scars while supporting greater confidence in one’s skin.

By improving the appearance of burn scars, we are able to help individuals feel more confident and comfortable in their skin while supporting the healing process from both a cosmetic and psychological perspective.

  • Skin Graft

Skin grafts are commonly used to repair areas of skin damaged by burns, injuries, or surgery by transplanting healthy skin from another part of the body. After healing, skin grafts can sometimes appear discolored because the transplanted skin may not produce pigment in the same way as the surrounding tissue.

Differences in blood supply, healing processes, and the loss or reduction of melanocytes (the cells responsible for skin color) can cause the graft to look lighter, darker, or uneven in tone.

These changes are a normal part of the healing process.

Dermink can help restore a more even, natural-looking skin tone/texture providing you with a long lasting solution to seemly blend  your graft and natural skin tone.

Unlike makeup or topical creams, once implanted, medical pigments  won’t wash off or smudge, allowing you to go about your daily life confidently.

No more worrying about constantly reapplying or hiding imperfections, let us help you feel more confident to live your best life. Your Skin Graft must be well healed before beginning your pigmentation process. (6-12 months).

  • Skin Cancer (Mohs) Surgery

Mohs surgery and general skin cancer surgery are both procedures to remove cancerous skin lesions, but they differ in precision and purpose:

Mohs surgery is a highly precise technique used mainly for basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. The surgeon removes the cancer layer by layer, examining each layer under a microscope until no cancer cells remain. This method maximizes healthy tissue preservation and minimizes scarring.

Standard skin cancer surgery removes the tumor with a predetermined margin of healthy tissue. While effective, it may remove more surrounding skin than necessary, potentially leading to larger or more noticeable scars.

.While these scars are a sign of strength and survival, they sometimes feel difficult to embrace, especially in areas that are always visible. At Dermink we offer you a minimally invasive and effective way to improve the look of these scars.

Let us help you to feel confident, comfortable, and fully yourself after your healing journey..

  • Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a chronic skin condition in which the body’s immune system attacks pigment-producing cells, resulting in patches of lighter or depigmented skin. Beyond its physical effects, vitiligo can have significant psychological and emotional impacts, including lowered self-esteem, social anxiety, and feelings of self-consciousness, especially when visible areas like the face or hands are affected. Treatments such as medical dermal pigmentation can help by restoring color to these patches, creating a more even and natural skin tone. This not only improves appearance but also supports emotional well-being, helping individuals regain confidence, feel more comfortable in social situations, and embrace their skin with a renewed sense of self-assurancepigmentation offers a practical and lasting solution by implanting carefully matched pigments into the affected areas, blending the depigmented patches with the surrounding skin. This treatment can restore a more even and natural-looking tone, helping individuals feel more comfortable, confident, and empowered in their daily lives, without the need for makeup.
