PROCEDURES
Permanent Medical Camouflage is routinely used to minimize the appearance of various medical conditions related to dermatology and plastic surgery to cover scars defects and skin color abnormalities.
In some instances a Doctors referral may be required before treatment may commence.
- Areola/Nipple Restoration
- Breast Argumentation Scars
- Other Skin Surface Imperfections
SCARS
Many people have scars, and as a result of this a persons confidence, self image, psychological and emotional well-being may be affected. Scar Camouflage procedures have the benefit of improving the look of scarring by breaking down the taut scar tissue and creating a more even-textured surface.
This procedure is ideal for scars caused from accidents or injuries, 'face lift', breast argumentation, tummy-tuck scars or scars from other surgical procedures.
Once a scar has healed, hypoallergenic custom manufactured medical pigments can be infused in the scar to help match the surrounding skin tone.
By custom mixing and matching colors that harmonize with the surrounding tissue, then implanted and blended to camouflage any imperfection we are able to create the illusion of smother skin. Scar's become less noticeable, and reduces the contrasting, shiny appearance. It is important to have a realistic expectation when undergoing this procedure and there are considerations for Asian and darker skinned clients.
BURNS
Burns are similar to scars in that the surface of the skin shrinks to give a tight, stretched appearance and is usually discolored. Our techniques soften burns as we use micro pigmentation to blend the area in with the surrounding skin.
CLEFT LIP
A cleft lip or palette is surprisingly common with around one in seven hundred new born babies affected. However, the resulting scars left by corrective surgeries are sometimes a little more prominent than the patient would like.
This is when post surgery cosmetic procedures are the ideal answer, providing the client with the desired aesthetic and most importantly, peace of mind.
There are various stages in disguising a cleft lip to recreate natural looking lips. Step one is to use multi collagen actuation (MCA) techniques to soften and relax the scar tissue. Any visible scars are repigmented with flesh tones Next, a more symmetrical lip line is created. Finally, the l.lips are filled in with a natural lip color that is suitable for the client’s skin tone.
'NECK LACE LINES'
Exposure to the elements (photodamage), loss of collagen and elastin, as well as laxity of the platysma neck muscle can contribute to formation of horizontal wrinkles and lines, commonly called necklace lines.
These lines may be effectively treated using medical pigments, custom mixed and matched to your body's natural flesh tones, then implanted directly into the tiny discolored bands.
Once the pigments have settled, the appearance of the Necklace Line are dramatically reduced.. .
SKIN GRAPH
Skin grafts are most often required after a serious accident by fire or intense heat, resulting in a significant loss of skin. These areas of skin loss will require a skin graft in order to replace the skin and keep your body free from disease.
By carefully matched colored pigments, a mosaic effect is tattooed into the skin in a random action to create the most natural looking effects possible. Sometimes 'dry needling)' can be more effective than introducing color. Dry needling is a technique used to help relax the raised or stretched surface texture of burns and scars caused by an excess of sub surface collagen.
Custom medical hypoallergenic pigments are matched and hand mixed to harmonize with surrounding skin to minimize the appearance of surface abnormalities, and accomplish visual improvements on skin surface.
The pigments are then added just below the dermis in stages to soften and blend with your natural skin color.
Pigments fade in varying degrees with different individuals. Some individuals will require maintenance application from time to time, while others will not.
Due to varying degrees of difficulty of applications associated with lip/skin texture, scarring or wrinkles around lip lines from cold sores, age, laser treatments, medications, smoking, sunexposure, and glycolic acid creams results may vary..
VITILIGO
Permanent Skin is proven to be successful in the long term camouflage of Vitiligo.
Only Vitiligo that has been in remission for a minimum of 1 year can be treated with medical tattoo techniques.
The disturbance of an unstable Vitiligo site can stimulate the site to spread or new sites to establish in other areas.
STRETCHMARKS
Stretchmarks are a condition that can affect both men and women alike.
There is no magical cure for Stretcmarks. However by matching, mixing, and then implanting speciality formulated Medical Pigments directly into stretchmarks, their unsightly appearance can be altered to a more complementing tone.
If one chooses to have Medical Camouflage carried out, it is important to know when tanning these areas will hardly change by comparison to the untreated areas.
For this reason it is important to keep one's skin tone as close to the original tone as possible. This would mean avoiding long sessions in the sun, and artificial tanning aids, excluding spray tans as this sits on the skins surface and could help by balancing skin tone.
Procedure are not recommended for anyone who have certain types of keloid scarring, or those who suffer with hyperpigmentation as this will encourage more melanin.
Results will vary from person to person, and this is reliant on many factors such as age of the person, condition of the skin, diet, natural healing capabilities and so on.
Stretchmark treatments are multi-visit. (3-5 sessions typical).
BIRTHMARK CAMOUFLAGE
Before having a birthmark or hyperpigmented skin (where color is darker than surrounding skin) camouflaged, please check with your Dermatologist to ensure the area is benign (harmless/non-cancerous) or not a serious skin condition.
MEN'S PROCEDURE'S
The approach taken towards Men's procedures is much more subtle,‘natural looking’, than that of women's procedures.
The results are more enhanced features, while still remaining very masculine.
Men's procedures range from Eyebrow Enhancement, Lash enhancement, right through to the more confidence boosting procedures such as Scar correction, hair strokes camouflage, Alopecia, Vitiligo and so on.
CORRECTION'S
When it comes to Scar and Skin Camouflage, natural-looking results are essential.
Medical Camouflage procedures are not fanciful applications.
Restoring flawed patches of skin takes a high degree of skill, technique and artistry in order to produce natural looking 'skin'. An inexperienced, or unqualified person can easily leave a very visible, permanent mistake.
Another concern is the increasing variety of pigments and diluents being used .
Although a number of color additives are approved for use, using an unapproved color
additive makes the ink adulterated.
Many pigments used in tattoo inks are not approved for skin contact, some are industrial grade colors that are used for printers' ink or automobile paint.
Despite advances in laser technology, removing a tattoo is a painstaking process, usually involving several treatments and considerable expense. Complete removal without scarring may not be possible.
However some inks cannot be removed by lasers.
